
Oklahoma State Drops Bedlam 11-3 In Five Inning Run-Rule Loss to Sooners
Oklahoma State squandered a 3-0 early lead to lose to Oklahoma in an 11-3 run rule down at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 23-12 overall on the season, their third-straight loss.
Pitcher Ruby Meylan picked up the loss, giving up seven runs on six hits, five of which were earned, with two strikeouts and four walks. Katie Kutz came into the game in relief, giving up four hits and four runs, all of which were earned, with one strikeout and one walk.
The Cowgirls struck early, scoring two runs in the top of the first with Tia Warsop scoring on an error, with Rosie Davis scoring on a field error just a bit later.
Davis scoring her second run of the game on a solo shot in the top of the third inning, putting the Pokes up 3-0.
That’s when the bottom started to fall out.
Pickering hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, with the Sooners plating five runs in the bottom of the fourth and four in the bottom of the fifth to complete the run rule.
The Cowgirls are back in action this coming weekend as they play host to Iowa State.
