
Oklahoma State Softball Run Rules Wichita State 10-2
STILLWATER — Multiple impressive performances at the plate led No. 21 Oklahoma State Softball to a 10-2 victory over Wichita State at Cowgirl Stadium Tuesday.
The Cowgirls improved to 25-14 overall with the win, and the Shockers dipped to 21-20-1 on the season.
Wichita State opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning off of a two-RBI double from Jodie Epperson. Karli Godwin responded in the bottom of the inning with a double down the left field line to score Rosie Davis.
The Cowgirls held the Shockers scoreless the rest of the game and scored nine in the next four innings. Davis doubled in the second to score Megan Bloodworth and Megan Delgadillo, and Bloodworth doubled in the third inning to score Micaela Wark and Karli Godwin.
Amanda Hasler blasted a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning, and Godwin homered in the next at-bat to establish a seven run lead.
Oklahoma State loaded the bases in the fifth and Tallen Edwards singled in Tia Warsop to close the contest.
RyLee Crandall improved to 3-2 for the Cowgirls after throwing for four innings with only three hits and two runs allowed. Katie Kutz pitched the last inning in relief and allowed zero hits. Ava Sliger (5-6) took the loss for Wichita State.
Offensive standouts for Oklahoma State included Godwin (3-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBIs), Hasler (1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI) and Bloodworth (1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs.)
The Cowgirls return to action at 5 p.m. Thursday to kick off a Big 12 series against UCF in Orlando. The game will be live streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
