Oklahoma State Posts 5-0 Senior Day Shutout Over Utah

STILLWATER —RyLee Crandall threw six scoreless innings to lead the No. 23 Oklahoma State softball team to a 5-0 victory over Utah at Cowgirl Stadium Saturday. 

With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 32-17 and 12-9 in the Big 12, while the Utes dropped to 13-38 and 5-18 in the conference. 

Crandall improved to 5-4 with the win, striking out three and allowing four hits. Utah's Hailey Maestretti fell to 4-10 with the loss.

The Cowgirls jumped out to a three-run advantage in the first inning. Megan Delgadillo, Tallen Edwards and Rosie Davis started the day with walks, with Delgadillo crossing home on a passed ball. A sacrifice fly from Amanda Hasler scored Edwards, then Karli Godwin doubled home Davis. 

The scoring continued in the third inning when Hasler blasted her team-best 15th home run of the season. Micaela Wark added the final run in the fourth inning with her eighth home run of the season. Wark has hit home runs in both games in this series. 

Kyra Aycock pitched the final inning in relief, pitching three quick outs to seal the victory for OSU.

Offensive standouts for Oklahoma State included Hasler (1-for-2 with a home run and 2 RBIs), Wark (1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI) and Godwin (1-for-3 with an RBI). 

All five seniors who were honored today saw playing time in the contest.

The Cowgirls return to action at noon tomorrow in search of the series sweep. The game will be live streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network app.
