Cowgirls Get Ready to Head to OKC and the Big 12 Tournament with a 1st Day Bye
After Sunday’s regular season finale for Big 12 softball teams, all 11 seedings for the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship are set and Oklahoma State will sit out the first day as the No. 4 seed. The sweep this weekend over Utah allowed the Cowgirls to move up and they already know their opponent for Thursday in Arizona State. This year’s Championship will be held at OGE Energy Field at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. Games will begin Wednesday, May 7, and conclude Saturday, May 10.
Texas Tech, the regular season league champion, claimed the No. 1 seed and was followed by No. 2 seed Arizona, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 4 seed Oklahoma State and No. 5 seed Arizona State as teams who received a first-round bye.
The 2025 season marked the debut season for Arizona, Arizona State and Utah in the Big 12. TTU (42-12, 20-4) and ISU (30-22, 15-9) enter Championship play with the highest seedings in program history after both set school records for most Big 12 wins in a single season.
Wednesday’s action will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT with No. 8 seed Baylor (26-26, 11-13) against No. 9 seed Kansas (22-27, 6-18) followed by No. 7 seed UCF (32-21-1, 12-12) facing No. 10 seed Utah (13-39, 5-19) at 5 p.m. CT.
No. 6 seed BYU (31-16, 13-11) and No. 11 seed Houston (22-24, 4-18) end the day with first pitch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The fourth-seeded Cowgirls (33-17, 13-9) will open play on Thursday against the fifth-seeded Sun Devils (34-18, 14-10) at 11 a.m. CT before the Red Raiders face the winner of BU/KU at 1:30 p.m. CT.
Thursday’s second session will feature the Wildcats (43-10, 17-7) battling the winner of UCF/UTAH at 5 p.m. CT and the Cyclones competing against the winner of BYU/HOU at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Single-session tickets and parking passes can be purchased here. Gates will open an hour before the first pitch each day.
Live coverage of the Championship will be broadcast Wednesday through Friday on ESPN+, with Saturday’s Championship final airing on ESPN at 11 a.m. CT.
