Lawrence, Kan. – After a rough outing on Friday, Oklahoma State softball took care of business against Kansas with a 4-2 win, moving to 25-5 on the season and 1-1 in Big 12 conference play.

Left-hander Kelly Maxwell got the start in the circle for the Cowgirls. Maxwell (10-1) pitched six innings of perfect softball before allowing a base hit and home run in the seventh inning.

The redshirt sophomore struck out 10 in 6.2 innings of work. She leads the team with 10 wins on the year.

Logan Simunek came on in relief and recorded the last out of the game to secure her second save this season.

Offensively, Hayley Busby (2-for-4, 3 RBI) and Kiley Naomi (2-for-4) led the way for the Cowgirls.

Michaela Richbourg came up big for the Cowgirls with a pinch-hit double in the top of the sixth to break the scoreless tie.

Busby launched her ninth home run of the season to give the Cowgirls three insurance runs in the seventh inning.

The Cowgirls are back in action tomorrow to close out the series against the Jayhawks at 12 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
