Lawrence, Kan. – Oklahoma State softball improved to 26-5 (2-1 Big 12) on the season after a 12-0 run-rule victory at Kansas.
Carrie Eberle got her second start of the weekend against the Jayhawks. The returning All-American threw four scoreless innings and struck out six in the outing. Eberle improved to 10-1 on the season with today’s win.
Senior Logan Simunek came on in relief of Eberle and pitched the final inning to earn her third save of the season.
The Cowgirl offense scored in the first four innings, including a six-run third inning. Hayley Busby, Kiley Naomi, and Sydney Pennington all hit home runs in the contest.
Busby (2-for-3, 3 RBI, HR), Pennington (2-for-3, 2 RBI, HR) and Chyenne Factor (2-for-3, 2 runs scored) led the Cowgirls with multiple hits on the day.
Oklahoma State has now hit at least one home run in 15 of its last 16 games.
The Cowgirls will open a three-game series against Iowa State on Thursday, April 1st. The first game of the series is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
