This may be the weakest position for several teams in the Big 12, for Oklahoma State it is brand new.

STILLWATER – With the exceptions of Kansas State, Baylor, Texas Tech, and Iowa State; I think all other Big 12 teams could have concerns, some major concerns going into the season at linebacker. There is no doubt that this is the position where more transfers show up on the top line of the depth chart, but also on the lines underneath. Texas Tech went out and bought a defense to go around standout linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. It looks good. Iowa State is the most home grown at the position.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Only question I have is with Texas Tech and Baylor! Baylor will basically have an entirely new D line with them losing all four starters from last year which could affect the linebacker play! Likewise Texas Tech was HORRENDOUS ON DEFENSE, slightly better than OSU, and I wonder why they didn't look to spend some of the NIL RICHES THEY NOW HAVE ON GETTING BETTER TALENT IN THE PORTAL TO HELP RODRIGUEZ!!!

One season of play or recruitment does not a program make. If homegrown works one year, portal may outshine the next. Luck/skill and injury considerations can turn a position into a weakness or strength year to year. Especially in this portal world.....where you very well may only get one big season out of a player.
I'm hopeful our recruiting staff pulled some portal magic like they did with that WR from Fox U? a couple years back. And I will admit I miss RA's orange colored sunglasses this year!

The sunglasses are still orange, but like always they are realistic. On defense, for example, I believe the front is really strong and the back end is above average. The defense, overall, will be much better but last season was an historic worst on defense, so there is as much room for improvement as there could ever be. This team needs to under promise and over produce. Maybe, I'm trying to help them a little bit with the narrative.
