Oklahoma State Offers Four-Star 2027 Edge Rusher Out of Mississippi Derwin Fields

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has extended an offer to four-star edge rusher out of Mississippi, Derwin Fields. 

Fields checks in at 6-5, 220 pounds and is a four-star prospect out of Brookhaven (MS) HS. The 247Sports composite rankings have him as the No. 45 overall prospect in the ’27 class, the No. 5 overall edge and the No. 3 prospect out of Mississippi. 

He currently holds almost 20 offers going into his junior season, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC among others.

This past season as a sophomore, Fields helped Brookhaven to an 11-2 overall record as he recorded 61 total tackles with 11 sacks and 10 tackles for loss.

There have been one-off offers and commitments from back east, but with this new defensive staff, I would expect more offers out east.

The Cowboys don’t currently hold a commitment in the ’27 class.
