STILLWATER – We’re now less than 48 hours away from Oklahoma State’s season opener against Tennessee Martin on Thursday, and Pokes Report can confirm TCU transfer, Hauss Hejny, will take the first snaps against the Skyhawks.
This was first reported by ESPN’s Chris Low.
Pokes Report can also report both quarterbacks will play in the season opener, and while Hejny is taking the first snaps of the season, this is not the Cowboys naming a starting quarterback for the season. That possibility is also not being ruled out as this is still an open battle.
Neither Hejny nor Flores has attempted a pass at the college level, with Hejny being the only of the two quarterbacks to have taken snaps at this level, 15 carries for 65 yards as a freshman for the Horned Frogs.
Hejny transferred to Oklahoma State from TCU this offseason, following new Cowboy offensive coordinator, Doug Meacham, who was at TCU last season.
Opening kick against the Skyhawks is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
