EUGENE, Ore. – Around the third quarter of the opening win 27-7 over UT-Martin, Oklahoma State coaches, staff, and fans had to be feeling like no luck at all was a better option  than the luck they seemed to be getting on the injury front. Four players went out noticeably during the Thursday night game and two will be out for at least four-to-five weeks longer. The other two made the trip to Oregon and will play in the contest.

Pokes Report
With Hauss Hejny out the quarterback duties fall all on Zane Flores.

Quarterback Hauss Hejny did suffere a broken bone in his foot and has had it surgically repaired. He is expected back four-to-six weeks from the injury last Thursday. Defensive end DeSean Brown looked to have a serious knee injury, but word this week was it was not as serious as first thought. Brown could be back on a similar time table to Hejny.

Center Kasen Carpenter had a knee injury but he has practiced this week and can play. The same for safety David Kabongo, who came off the field, but returned to the game last week and is good to go for Oregon.

A late addition to the injury list was left offensive tackle Markell Samuel. Samuel suffered a leg injury that will keep him out for a significant period. Nuku Mafi steps over from right tackle and Grant Seagren comes in at right tackle.

Previous injuries that could impact the Cowboys. running back Rodney Fields is probable for the contest and on defense so is interior defensive lineman Michael Diatta. Cornerback Jaylin Davies is possible.

Tight end-H back Oscar Hammond will miss the Oregon game but will definitely be back for the Sept. 19 game at home with Tulsa.

Another player that could be back at some point this season is offensive lineman Louie Canepa.

Players out for the season include offensive linemen Simona Fuailetolo, Tyler Brumfield, and freshman Jaylan Beckley; running back Jaden Allen-Hendrix, wide receiver Talyn Shettron, and tight end Jordan Vyborny.

Lets hope the Cowboys stay healthy as the open week between Oregon and Tulsa should give some injured players a chance to progress.
