How long do you want to ignore this user?
Until Fifita's last TD fling after being chased all over the backfield, out tackling has been MUCH better. More wrap -up after big pops. Liking that.

First-Half Wrap:

I'll say this defensively, the calls have been solid. We're not seeing receivers running free downfield like in some of the early games, and that's progress. The coverage structure is holding up, and for the most part, guys are in the right position. The issue now isn't scheme it's execution. Landyn Cleveland had a chance to make a huge play to get us off the field, but he hesitated, and that hesitation cost a potential momentum swing. You can't play scared or slow in this league.

Up front, I'm actually pretty happy with the penetration the defensive line is getting into Arizona's backfield. They're creating pressure and disrupting plays early, which is exactly what you want to see. But they've got to keep Fafita contained he's too good at slipping away and extending drives when we lose contain. The defense just needs to keep that emotion and edge. They're not far off from completely flipping this game.

Offensively, though, it's another story. The play-calling has been a mess. Too many conservative looks, not enough trust in our athletes. On long third downs, you can't keep throwing behind the line of scrimmage and expect positive results. That's not playing to win that's playing not to lose. Trent Howland hasn't gotten nearly enough touches, and when he's in rhythm, he's one of the few guys who can wear down a defense.

We've also got to find a way to stretch the field both horizontally and vertically. Hit those same-side or long out routes to create chunk plays. Everything right now feels compressed we're letting the defense crowd us instead of forcing them to defend the whole field. Until that changes, it's hard to build any kind of offensive rhythm.
