STILLWATER – The reports are rampant on the next head football coach at Oklahoma State. Yesterday there was a flurry of activity on Texas A&M offensive coordinator and former K-State quarterback Collin Klein. Klein was listed by one social media post as the likely hire and they had it from Oklahoma State “boosters.”

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Thanks Robert for your efforts in trying to get the scuttlebutt on this search, I'm certain we're all on high alert waiting for a decision.

I hope all our Gundy hater fans have their checkbooks out, whomever we select is going to need some big financial support to keep us competitive, and no whining about the decision.

WTH is that last two whiny lines about?
I suppose you wanted Gundy to stay and watch his legacy get pounded with each and every embarrassing loss each week?

And what's with the line about Gundy haters having to break out the checkbook and not whine about the pick?
Liike you had a better plan?

Let's hear what your solution was, Mr. Rodeo?
I can't wait to hear your genius solution (excuses) to the last two seasons.
I know there are rules, but do we really want to follow them now?

It would DUMB to hire Klein over Eric Morris.

naw... not going to fight with you. Not taking the bait.

I have no idea whether we will or would be better or worse off with Gundy as our coach, there is much of his approach that I did not agree 100% with. My only complain was the very poor timing of his firing which ensured OSU would have an unsuccessful season.

I would have loved to see if this team could have improved under Gundy (which I believe it would have), and become bowl eligible.

I have no idea what happened last season, Gundy did what every single OSU fan would have done with a very experienced team returning fresh off conference contention with almost every key person returning. Which is, pay to keep your guys, and try to fill in any gaps with portal players. Gundy brought in a new DC (which most fans clamored for), but did not allow the DC to bring in his own coaches, where Gundy himself said that was probably a mistake.

(I think I got this next stuff mostly correct off the top of my head)

Gundy tried to fix both of those issues by firing all the coaches, letting the OC and DC bring in their own coaches, and went heavy to the portal since all of our very experienced team was out of eligibility or entered the draft. This start was rough, but we all knew that we had no chance against Oregon, then the offense started to suffer personnel losses to the extent of starting a WR at QB (ugh).

That's my take on it, I think we could have improved this year enough to make a bowl, whether that would be enough to keep Gundy or not is not up to me.

Accept my thoughts or don't, but I'm not going to argue with anybody about it because it is water under the bridge and we can only look forward at this point. I have no interest in rehashing what happened or why.

I'm in for the long haul. Go Pokes.
