STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out its season-opening homestand with a 105-55 win over Prairie View A&M on Tuesday morning in front of 3,056 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

With the victory, the 20th-ranked Cowgirls improved to 5-0 on the year and did so in record-setting fashion.

Head coach Jacie Hoyt's squad drilled 13 3-pointers in the contest, giving the OSU 72 on the season. The Cowgirls' total is the most by a Division I squad during its first five games since at least 1999-2000.

In the first, OSU held an 8-6 lead halfway through the period before using a 10-0 spurt to close out the frame. The Cowgirls got eight points in the quarter from Micah Gray.

OSU opened the second on a 13-0 run fueled by back-to-back layups from Haleigh Timmer. She would go on to finish the quarter with 11 points while the Cowgirls outscored the Lady Panthers by a 31-7 count to end the half with a 49-15 lead.

Gray finished the half with 14 points.

The Lady Panthers hit five of their first six shots after the break, but the Cowgirls would extend their margin with a 26-point frame to take a 75-34 lead into the final period.

OSU would erupt for 30 points in the final period to crack the century mark for the fourth time on the season and extends its school mark for 100-point outings in a season.

Gray would finish with a game-high 25 points, while Timmer scored 20. Achol Akot logged her second double-double as a Cowgirl, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Lena Girardi scored 15 and Jadyn Wooten added 11 with eight assists.
