Eric Morris Adding Two More UNT Defensive Coaches Reggie Johnson and Julian Wilson

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has found a defensive backs coach and linebackers coach as Eric Morris is set to hire North Texas defensive backs coach, Julian Wilson, and linebackers coach Reggie Johnson.
Wilson and Johnson marks the second and third full-time assistants added by Morris as he joins defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity, who was announced by Cowboy football last week.
Wilson has been a coach since 2020, spending just one season at North Texas with Morris. While the two never crossed paths, Wilson spent two seasons as a grad assistant at Texas Tech, where Morris played his college ball and spent five seasons as a coach.
Wilson was defensive backs coach at Abilene Christian in 2022-23 and in the same role at Sam Houston in 2024 before his lone season at North Texas in 2025.
He’s originally out of Southmoore HS and Oklahoma City before spending his college career at Oklahoma.
A 1996 Louisville graduate, Johnson has 28 years of coaching experience that includes 11 bowl seasons, highlighted by the 2005 Gator Bowl, 2006 Orange Bowl, 2010 Sugar Bowl and 2011 Cotton Bowl. He has coached linebackers for 21 of those seasons and has also worked with the defensive line and special teams.
His resume includes stints as a defensive coordinator at Alabama A&M and UAB. He was also co-defensive coordinator at Missouri State in 2023.
Pokes Report can report North Texas offensive line coach Cody Crill is following Eric Morris and will be on staff at OSU in the same role. And as reported a few weeks back, former OSU defensive line coach, Greg Richmond, is coming back to Stillwater and will coach defensive ends.
