STILLWATER – Eric Morris is now two coaches closer to having a complete staff as Oklahoma State officially announced the hiring of Nick Edwards and wide receivers coach and Bryan Kegans as head strength and conditioning coach.

Pokes Report reported the hiring of Kegans back on December 10 when Rob Glass was let go.

Edwards comes to Stillwater after spending the last season as receivers coach at Wake Forest.

Kegans joined the UNT staff as Director of Strength and Conditioning in December 2022. He added the title of Assistant Head Football Coach in March 2023. He serves as the lead strength and conditioning coach for the UNT Football program while overseeing the rest of UNT’s strength and conditioning staff that works with other UNT athletic teams.

Before North Texas, Kegans was the associate director of football sports performance at USC in 2022 and ‘23. He was at Oklahoma prior to that as the assistant director of sports performance from 2018-22. So, he had linked up with Lincoln Riley, who is also one of Eric Morris’ mentors.

The Stephenville native played offensive line at Texas Tech from 2002-05.

Kegans holds certifications from CSCCA (collegiate strength and conditioning coaches association), SCCC (strength & conditioning coach certified), NSCA (strength and conditioning specialist), and NASM (performance enhancement specialist, corrective exercise specialist and functional movement specialist).

Edwards joined the Wake Forest staff following two seasons at Washington State. During the 2024 season, WSU had Kyle Williams rack up nearly 1,200 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. It marked the first 1,000+ yard receiver for the Cougars since 2019.

In the 2023 season, the Cougars had six different receivers with double-digit receptions, including senior Lincoln Victor, who went from 245 yards on 26 receptions in 2022, to All-Pac 12 honors with 89 catches for 860 yards and five touchdowns as a senior under Edwards.

Prior to his time with WSU, Edwards spent the 2022 season as an offensive assistant with the Atlanta Falcons and had a coaching fellowship with the Minnesota Vikings in 2020.

He was the offensive coordinator and receivers coach for Cal Poly in 2020-21, three seasons at Cal and four seasons at Eastern Washington, the school where he spent four seasons as a player, helping them to an FCS national title in 2010, hauling in 57 catches for 614 yards and seven touchdowns.

He was a unanimous All-American in 2011 with 95 catches for 1,250 yards and 19 touchdowns to lead the FCS.
