Report: Oklahoma State Set to Get WR Visits Including UCLA Receiver Kwazi Gilmer
STILLWATER – According to 247 Sports and national recruiting and transfer portal reporter Blair Angulo, UCLA wide receiver Kawzi Gilmer, who just went into the transfer portal, visits Arizona State this weekend and then is going to visit Oklahoma State early next week. He is also paying close attention to Big 12 rivals Baylor and UCF. Tony Diaz another receiver from UT-Rio Grande Valley is also visiting. Akron’s Israel Polk has posted an OSU offer. Obviously, Oklahoma State and new head coach Eric Morris getting the nation’s leading quarterback in Division I FBS Drew Mestemaker to follow from North Texas is a plus in trying to reel in other offensive talents.
Gilmer, who was coached this last season after UCLA fired their head coach by offensive coordinator and receivers coach Jerry Neuheisel, and the Bruins including Gilmer had some success. Gilmer started all 12 games this season and caught 50 passes for 535-yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 10.7-yards per catch and 44.6-yards receiving per game.
One of his best games came in the upset win over Penn State as he had seven receptiosn for 79-yards including a 43-yard catch that helped set up a score.
Originally from Sierra Canyon High School in California and in the class of 2024, Gilmer chose UCLA over the likes of Michigan State, Stanford, Washington, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Arizona, and Utah.
Tony Davis is from UT-Rio Grande Valley and the 5-11, 176 pound speedy slot had a strong season and was named a freshman honorable mention All-American in the FCS and was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award for top receiver in the FCS. He had 68 catches for 875-yards and 11 touchdowns. His longest of the season was a 75-yard touchdown reception at McNeese State.
He played his high school ball at Sam Marcos High School for former Cowboy QB J.W. Walsh’s father John Walsh. There he had 2,216 yards while making 95 catches and scoring 29 touchdowns.
Akron’s Israel Polk has reported an offer from Oklahoma State. The 6-1, 180 pound Polk is a redshirt sophomore from St. John Bosco High School in California. This past season he was named second-team All-MAC with 33 receptions for 525-yards and eight touchdowns.
Expect a number of top players in the portal at offensive positions to at least take a look at Oklahoma State.
