Report: Oklahoma State Set to Host UConn Running Back Jayden 'Mel' Brown
STILLWATER – The transfer portal offers from Eric Morris and Co. are coming fast and furious, with several prospects set to visit Stillwater in the coming days. One of the latest players set to visit Oklahoma State is UConn running back, Jayden ‘Mel’ Brown.
He joins former James Madison and North Texas running back, Ayo Adeyi, who is also set to visit Stillwater this weekend.
Brown checks in at 5-9, 180 pounds, and is a grad transfer. He transferred to UConn from Gardner-Webb ahead of the ’24 season. He played in all 13 games his first year up in Storrs, recording 118 carries for 673 and two touchdowns. He also had eight catches for 85 yards and one touchdown.
His ’25 season didn’t play out the way he wanted has he suffered a season-ending injury just five games into the season. He finished with 32 carries for 262 yards and two touchdowns.
In his 19 games at Gardner-Webb, Brown recorded 160 carries for 870 yards and 10 touchdowns and 17 receptions for 260 yards and four touchdowns out of the backfield.
