STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has landed yet another player on the defensive line out of the transfer portal, the third such player on Friday alone. DJ Jackson Jr., an edge rusher from Troy, committed to Eric Morris and Co. while on an official visit in Stillwater.
Jackson Jr. joins Florida State edge James Williams and North Texas defensive lineman Saadiq Clements.
Jackson Jr., who’s originally out of Atlanta Georgia and Mundy’s Mill HS, started his career out at Carson-Newman, a D2 school out of Jefferson City, Tennessee, before transferring to Coffeyville C.C. in 2024.
As a sophomore, Jackson recorded 42 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a pass break up and two blocked kicks.
This past season at Troy, Jackson played in 13 games, starting in two, and recorded 22 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Jackson has yet to redshirt and should have at least one extra year of eligibility due to a JUCO year, and now marks the 35th commitment out of the transfer portal for the Pokes.
