STILLWATER – While it’s not an official transfer portal addition, Eric Morris and Co. have retaining veteran safety Cameron Epps, who had initially entered the portal back in October, just a few weeks after former head coach Mike Gundy was fired.
Epps’ return was first reported by 247Sports.
Epps is a 6-2 safety out of Chaminade HS in St. Louis, Missouri, who played in just two games this past fall due to entering the portal. He played in seven games in 2024, recorded 11 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one pass break up before suffering a season-ending injury in the game against BYU.
2023 was a great year for Epps, as it was for several Cowboys, with Epps recorded 40 total tackles, 27 of which were solo stops. He also had three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown against Kansas State, and four pass break ups.
He redshirted in 2022, recorded three tackles across three games.
This is a good get for Morris and Co. as Epps has shown a ton of promise while healthy and playing.
