STILLWATER – The transfer portal will close the open door for most players Jan. 16 at 11:59 p.m. but Oklahoma State looks like they will head intot he weekend and the portal door closing having 64 players in the portal and now Ohio University wide receiver Rodney Harris II, who visited almost a week ago becomes portal commitment or signee No. 50. Obviously a record for Oklahoma State in portal acquisitions. Harris II may represent some overkill as the Cowboys have a strong receiver room, but badly need to add some strength and depth at defensive tackle.

The redshirt senior to be, who’s listed at 6-2, 213 pounds, played in all 13 games this past season for the Bobcats and had 30 receptions for 419-yards with two touchdowns. Harris’ biggest games came against Eastern Michigan, where he had six receptions for 103-yards and against Miami (Ohio) as he caught five passes for 92-yards and a touchdown. He had his long plays of the season in both those contests with a 49-yard catch in each game. He also caught three passes for 31-yards in the Scooter’s Coffee Bowl win over UNLV.

Harris started 13 games with 14 appearances for the Bobcats in 2024 and finished with 289 receiving yards on 23 reception. He caught a career best seven passes for 72 yards against Miami (Ohio).

He played in eight games and caught one pass in the 2023 season. He red-shirted and did not play in the 2022 season.

An Ohio native, Harris attended Princeton High School. He captained football and basketball from 2020-22. He also ran track and field. Harris led the Vikings to an 11-2 record and the regional semi-finals in his senior season on the gridiron. He had 75 catches, 1566 yards and 20 touchdowns over his career and was named All-GMC and All-Southwest in both his junior and senior seasons. He was named All-State in his senior season. Harris was also a three-time All-Academic GMC honoree.

Harris II is the 25th player overall out of the portal to OSU that is on offense. He is the seventh wide receiver to be added.
