STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State softball team improved to 34-5 (10-1 Big 12) on the season with a pair of victories (4-0, 5-1) over the Baylor Lady Bears in Saturday’s doubleheader.

With the victory, Oklahoma State broke a program record with 10-straight Big 12 wins. The previous mark was nine, which was set in 2010 and matched in 2019.

Strong performances in the circle from Carrie Eberle (15-1, 0.66 ERA) and Kelly Maxwell (13-1, 1.19 ERA) led the way as the Cowgirls surrendered just one run on the afternoon.

In game one, Eberle pitched her sixth complete game shutout of the season, allowing just three hits on the day while striking out eight Lady Bears.

Offensively, the Cowgirls were led by the top of the order with Kiley Naomi, Chyenne Factor, Alysen Febrey and Hayley Busby going a combined 7-for-14 and accounting for all three RBI.

Busby (2-for-4, RBI) hit her team-leading 13th home run in game one.

Maxwell drew the start in game two for the Cowgirls. She pitched six innings in her 13th win, and allowed just two hits while striking out seven batters. Her season total now sits at 99 strikeouts.

In game two of the doubleheader, OSU had four players with multiple hits (Naomi, Factor, Sydney Pennington, and Chelsea Alexander) to contribute to the Cowgirls 21 hits across both games.

Naomi went 6-for-7 with three RBI and two runs scored in the doubleheader, while also stealing two bases in the process.

The Cowgirls return to action tomorrow as they look for their third-straight Big 12 sweep. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
