STILLWATER – Spring has officially sprung in Stillwater, spring football that is, as Oklahoma State was in full gear out on the practice fields of the Sherman Smith indoor practice facility.
Head coach Eric Morris met with the media following the practice, which you can watch in its entirety in the video player above.
“I think that we definitely hit on some guys that could run and cover ground and that are going to be really good football players at our skill positions,” Eric Morris said of the athleticism of his team. “I always think it's really hard in the trenches to really tell without pads of where we're at. I think there's a little bit of an advantage to the defensive line with the way you got to play when you don't have pads on. And then we're on a progression right now of teaching things and installing things. Not any gap scheme today, just for safety reasons. And so we'll start getting to the more power side football running counters and powers once we put pads on. We just don't want to expose their shoulders to that. But yeah, it's hard to practice with athletes as good as they are, and fast and big up front, on both sides, without the shoulder pads on.”
