STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is hosting No. 3 seed Wichita State in the NIT for the second-straight season, this time in the second round. The Shockers enter this game at 23-11 overall on the season and is coming off a 74-70 win over Wyoming in the first round.
Similarly, the No. 3 seeded Cowboys are 20-14 overall on the season and is coming off an 84-80 win over Davidson.
On the season, the Shockers are averaging 77 points per game on 44% shooting from the floor and 34% from 3-point range. They’re bringing down an impressive 41 boards per game.
One of the main focuses for the Cowboys will need to be rebounding on the defensive end. The Shockers are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country with 14.8 offensive boards per game.
When it comes to their opponents, the Shockers are holding teams to 70 points per game on 42% shooting. And opponents are bringing down 34 rebounds per game.
For comparison, the Cowboys are averaging 84 points per game with 38 rebounds per game, while giving up 83 points and 37 rebounds per game.
Senior guard Kenyon Giles is leading the way with 19 points per game on 41% shooting in 36 minutes of action.
Senior Karon Boyd is next with nearly 11 points per game on 42% shooting and nearly six rebounds per game. Junior Will Berg is bringing down just over eight rebounds per game and redshirt freshman TJ Williams is bringing down close to five boards, and they’re both averaging nearly nine points per game.
