STILLWATER – As it stands going into the final week of April there are over 1,200 athletes in the college football portal and just over 1,000 athletes in the college basketball portal. Honestly, there are not homes for all of them to have a scholarship and be settled in by the fall semester.

so.... what happened to the Gundy ranting about not being able to fill all 85 scholarships because of the 25/season limit?

Wasn't it just about a year ago, or so, he was going on about not being able to fill his roster with scholarship players?

Is this plethora of players just COVID-season lock-down hangover?

Pretty obvious. Covid Super Seniors etc.

He has two "Freshman" classes on campus. All of last year's and 11 early enrollies from this year's class plus 6 super senoirs.

but... but... but.... Coach Gundy, we have early enrollees every year, and redshirt freshmen every year, so that's nothing new.... the super seniors are new, but we don't have that many of them, do we?

it's still not very clear how many scholarship players we have on roster, and how many of the 115 are walkons, etc.

only the super seniors would impact the scholarship limit, total spring players (not necessarily the early freshmen enrollees or last year's freshmen).

do we have a breakdown of scholarship players on campus?

so I take it that filling the 85 scholarships is still a long term concern, but it's not applicable this year due to the COVID exemption for "supers"?

I'm not trying to be cute or facetious, it's a serious question. Did the 25 limit on recruiting classes impact our total scholarships, or is it just too soon to tell (especially with this COVID exemption)?
