Big Loss for Oklahoma State with Choctaw's Titus Hawk Pledging to Notre Dame
STILLWATER – You may have noticed that in our five most likely prospects to commit early to the Cowboys we propped Jenks tight end Braxton Daniel and no mention of Choctaw tight end Titus Hawk. We knew, but couldn’t break that Hawk was nearing, actually had already informed Notre Dame he was going to commit to play two sports, football and baseball for the Irish. The 6-7, 220-pound Hawk is a big-time prospect that picked Notre Dame over Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Honestly, Hawk really was interested in going to Oklahoma State. His family has connections to the Gundy family and his parents were both athletes.
Hawk was leaning heavily to Oklahoma State early in his recruitment when Mike Gundy was head coach. He had visited with the new staff and Eric Morris and was still interested in being a Cowboy. This was lost on the negotiations. Our sources tell us Notre Dame made a substantial offer and that West Virginia was also way up their on the revenue share and NIL offering. Oklahoma State was not.
Notre Dame is also allowing Hawk to try his hand at both football and baseball. More of a jumbo wide receiver right now that is expected to grow into his 6-7 frame, Hawk had 31 receptions for 644 yards and eight touchdowns to help get the Yellow Jackets into Class 6A-II state title game, where they lost a shoot out with Sand Springs.
In baseball, Hawk finished last season with a .392 batting average, four home runs and 33 RBIs. He is having a good season in 2026 as well.
Oklahoma State is recruiting Hawk’s four-star teammate at linebacker and running back in Israel Hammons. He has already made an official visit to Oklahoma State (April 17-19) and is slated to visit Texas at the end of May.
