Drew Mestemaker Back in Texas for 1st Pitch on Oklahoma State Night
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team continued summer strength and conditioning workouts on Friday morning. Fridays are always a day where the work gets in early. A good thing because quarterback Drew Mestemaker had a date at Glode Life Field in Arlington, Texas on Friday evening. June 24 was Oklahoma State Night at the Texas Rangers game with the Seattle Mariners.
The new quarterback for the Cowboys was there to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Truth be told, Mestemaker is Oklahoma State’s quarterback, but he is being paid a salary more than many of the MLB players on the diamond for Texas and Seattle on Friday night. OSU Night was good luck for the home team as Texas won 5-4 and continued their hold on first place in the American League West Division.
Mestemaker’s opening ceremonial pitch was a tad high, but it could have been challenged on the ABS system and nobody would have argued with at least a challenge.
There is time as Mestemaker needs to be throwing strikes in Tulsa on Saturday, Sept. 5.
