STILLWATER – A few more offers have gone out across the 2027 and 2028 recruiting classes, specifically at Edge/DE in the ’28 class, as well as the top state of Oklahoma prospect in the ’28 class has put out his top schools list.

Let’s dig in, shall we?

OSU DL coach Greg Richmond has been busy over the past few days as he’s sent out several offers in ’28 class.

Cameron Sydnor – C.E. King, Houston, TX – 6-3, 220 - 2028

Sydnor currently holds at least 10 offers, including Arizona, Cal, Houston, North Carolina, Texas Tech, UNLV, Wisconsin among others.

King went 13-3 this past season, with Sydnor recording five total tackles across three games, with three QB hurries.

While he doesn’t have his sophomore highlights listed, you can watch his freshman video.

Sydnor is currently listed as the No. 323 overall prospect, the No. 30 EDGE and No. 40 ranked prospect in Texas according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Jaylen Johnson – Bishop Miege, Shawnee Mission, KS – 6-4, 210 - 2028

Johnson currently holds close to 10 offers, including Arizona, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, SMU and Tennessee among others.

This past season, Bishop Miege went 7-6, but what’s impressive is they started the season 2-5 before going on a run to finish as Kansas 4A runner up. As a sophomore, Johnson recorded 16 total tackles, 11 of which were solo stops, with six tackles for loss, four sacks, three fumble recoveries, one pass break up and one forced fumble.

Johnson is currently listed as the No. 474 overall prospect in the 2028 class, the No. 45 EDGE and the No. 4 prospect out of Kansas according to the 247Sports compositing rankings.

Remington Merlau – Rose Hill (KS) – Edge – 6-4, 235 pounds – 2028

Merlau holds close to 10 offers, including Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Something Oklahoma State fans have always loved is when a talented football player is also a talented wrestler. Merlau finished in second place this past season as a sophomore at heavyweight. There’s no doubt, at least in my mind, he’ll get a state championship before graduating.

Merlau is listed as the No. 523 overall prospect in the 2028 class, the No. 49 overall EDGE and the No. 5 prospect from Kansas according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Markius Woods – The Lawrenceville (NJ) School – DL –  6-3, 305 pounds – 2027

Woods, who holds close to 10 offers, which includes, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kansas State, Missouri and Oklahoma State among others, is currently committed to Boston College after an official visit back in mid-June. He’s already had official visits to Illinois and Missouri as well.

This past season, Lawrenceville School went 6-3 overall, with Woods recording 54 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one pass break up, and one fumble recovery returned for a score.

Woods is currently listed as the No. 576 overall prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 69 DL and the No. 14 overall prospect out of NJ according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Kamieon Compton-Nero – Owasso (OK) – ATH/Saf – 6-3, 190 pounds – 2028

Eric Morris and Co. will certainly have their work cut out to try and land Compton-Nero as he’s one of the top prospects in the country in the ’28 class and has received the offers to reflect. He received an offer from OSU back in June 2025, which means the new staff has pursued him and reoffered as they were included in his top schools list on Friday.

This past season as a sophomore for Rejoice Christian, Compton-Nero combined for 3,335 yards of total offense, throwing for 2,584 yards and 38 touchdowns, while rushing for 751 yards and eight touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 95 total tackles, five interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns.

Compton-Nero is currently listed as the No. 48 overall prospect in the country, the No. 1 overall athlete and the No. 1 overall prospect out of Oklahoma according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
