Drew Mestemaker and Caleb Hawkins on 2026 Maxwell Award Watch List
STILLWATER – It’s preseason watch list season and the first one is a big one as Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker and running back Caleb Hawkins are on the 2026 Maxwell Award Watch List.
The sophomore duo out of North Texas is coming off an incredible 2025 season with Eric Morris and the Mean Green.
Mestemaker went 319-for-463 for 4,379 yards and 34 passing touchdowns to nine interceptions. Following the season, he was named the American Conference Offensive Player of the Year, was First Team All-American Conference.
As for Hawkins, he had 231 carries for 1,434 yards and 25 touchdowns and 32 receptions for 370 yards and four touchdowns. Following the season, Hawkins was tabbed a Walter Camp Second Team All-American, a True Freshman All-American by On3, First Team All-American Conference selection and was the American Conference Rookie of the Year.
