STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head coach Eric Morris met with the media on Wednesday following the first practice of Fall Camp.
There were a number of topics discussed, from how the practice went, the defensive line group, led by Malik Charles, various position battles, conditioning and everything in between.
Here’s his opening statement and you can watch the complete press conference above.
“I thought the excitement was there; at some point, this is my eighth year of being a head coach, there’s a bunch of anxiety for a lot of people on day one. It just seems to happen, even as much as we get to meet and practice during the summer and go over installs, just the first day you’re out there with your helmet on, it’s happening in real time. We had some guys that couldn’t finish practice today, so toughness is going to be a major factor. I’ve got to go back and watch the tape and see why that happened. Obviously, it’s super hot out here, but we’ve got to get a lot tougher from this point on before our game. All those issues will be addressed. But there was some good mixed in there today. I think that we had some guys who performed well, came out here and handled it like pros. But overall, I thought we had too many people gassing for wind at the end of practice.”
