Former Players Brandon Weeden and Terry Brown Talk to Current Cowboys

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has entered the second full week of fall camp here in Stillwater, most recently strapping on pads and doing some hitting. One thing Eric Morris has worked really hard on off the football field is relationships with former players. One of the best to ever play for the Pokes, quarterback Brandon Weeden, and defensive back Terry Brown got to speak to the team after practice on Monday.
Weeden, who led the Pokes to the only Big 12 championship in program history, is third on OSU’s career passing yards list with 9.260 yards with 75 touchdowns, which puts him second all-time. He’s also first in completion percentage at 69.5%.
As for Brown, he played on all three sides of the ball for the Pokes from 1966-68, recording 57 total tackles, six pass break ups and three fumble recoveries in 1966. He played wide receiver as a junior in 1967, recording 34 catches for 425 yards and two touchdowns, and 54 catches for 688 yards and two touchdowns as senior in ’68.
Pokes Report spoke with Weeden following practice to get his thoughts on the team. “Drew [Mestemaker] looked good,” said Weeden. “Broderick [Vehrs] can flat out spit it. All the quarterbacks throw it pretty well. Defensive line looked solid, offensive line scuffled in team period. I thought the first team wide receivers looked good and explosive.”
