The Oklahoma State engineering major was a little over enthusiastic with his Cowboy football projections. A man of his word, he is going to take the self prescribed penalties.

STILLWATER – Complete credit on this story goes to Tulsa World (Oklahoma State) beat writer Eric Bailey. Through his daughters on social media, Bailey discovered Oklahoma State student Seth Storey and his TikTok published prediction and pledge for this Oklahoma State football season. Storey told me that Bailey had to establish a TikTok account in order to message him and make contact to write about this crazy and extreme gesture of loyalty in the Tulsa World.

“He told me that he saw the post on social media,” Storey explained. “He signed up for TikTok and reached me there.”

Storey, a lifelong Oklahoma State fan with two Oklahoma State graduates for parents (Scott Storey and Amanda LaMay) back in Bartlesville. Now. a junior at Oklahoma State majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering, Storey said he was really caught up in the new era of Cowboys football under Eric Morris and 92 new players in the program.

“What prompted that is the guy that originally came up with this is an Ohio State fan,” Storey started. “He picked a 12-0 season for them, I think back in their natty (championship) year two years ago. I thought that is fun and that would be good to do with us. I forgot about it until this year. We got the whole new team and new coach. We’re predicted to do a lot better than we have the last two years, maybe not 12-0 better. I thought this should be fun. I should do this.”

Not only does Storey pick the Cowboys to win. He picks some crazy challenges (punishment) if they don’t.

The Cowboys 24-10 loss to Tulsa pushed Seth Storey to eat a lot more chicken in one setting than he is used to.

For the Tulsa game, the punishment was locking himself inside a Raisin Canes restuarant for 24 hours. He then ordered a catering order of 25 chickin strips. For each chicken strip he ate, that knocked off an hour of his poultry imprisonment. He ate 21 chicken strips.

“I started with Canes sauce, but then I realized after awhile I couldn’t taste it,” he explained. “It was just eating more food, so I just ate them plain. It took about 24 hours before I started feeling it.”

Storey said it might be awhile before he has an appetite for chicken.

This week with Oregon is climbing as a favorite. The Ducks are now a 22.5 point favorite at Boone Pickens Stadium. Storey’s penalty if the Pokes lose is a mile run, walked or crawled. He said he will do them all at once. Last season’s 69-3 loss at Oregon would have meant 66 miles of running, walking, or crawling.

“I want to do it all at once,” Storey told me on Triple Play Sports Radio. “I’m hoping it is under 20 miles, but my friends will support me and follow me and keep me hydrated.”

As for the remainder of the season. Here are the punishments for him picking the Pokes to win every game if they should lose.

A loss to Murray State and he will transfer to the Kentucky school that plays at the FCS level. I think he is on solid ground here.

If West Virginia beats OSU in Morgantown on Sept. 26 Storey will get dropped off on a random country road and find his way home without navigation.

UCF is at OSU on Oct. 10. If the Golden Knights win then Storey will be put on medieval stocks (arms and head) for an hour and get tomatoes thrown at him. He said he hopes to do that on the Edmon Low Library lawn if he has to do it.

If the Pokes lose in Houston on Oct. 17 then he has to go to a bar and get the phone number from a "cougar."

The penalty for losing to Colorado on homecoming is taking the "Blazin' Challenge" at Buffalo Wild Wings, which consists of eating 10 blazin' knockout sauce wings in five minutes. I can tell you from personal experience those blazin’ wings are like plutonium.

Back on the road at Iowa State and a loss on Oct. 31 and Storey gets put in a trash can with oil and flour and pushed down a hill to simulate what it is like to be in a cyclone.

Kansas State is another digusting challenge if faced with it. Storey will do four cat food miles, eating one can of wet cat food for each mile.

You can see, Storey is customizing each penalty to correspond with some aspect of the opponent. Texas Tech was easy. He eats one extra large flour tortilla for every point of a losing deficit.

I don’t like the Arizona State penalty. A loss to the Sun Devils and it’s a bikini wax and a spray tan.

Finally, for Kansas and a loss in the finale and Storey will eat a container of sidewalk chalk (non toxic) in honor of  “Rock Chalk Jayhawk”.

“I’ll still have faith for the rest of the season,” Storey said. “But I’m prepared to do the challenge. I want to be a man of my word and have the integrity to complete all the challenges.”

The moral to this story might be when pickng unbeaten seasons you might want to stick to Ohio State, maybe Georgia, Texas, or Notre Dame.
