STILLWATER – Oklahoma State is set for a top 20 showdown on the road this weekend as the No. 18 Pokes face No. 20 Houston.

We were close on last week’s numbers as the Pokes beat UCF 42-28 in their Big 12 home opener.

Our first offensive stat was Over/Under 350 passing yards for Drew Mestemaker. I took the over and he finished with 304 yards, so I missed.

The next was Over/Under two receiving touchdowns for Wyatt Young. I took a push with two and he finished with one.

The first defensive stat as it was Over/Under seven solo stops for Ethan Wesloski and he finished with eight. I took the over and was bang on.

The final defensive stat was Over/Under five tackles for loss as a team. The Pokes finished with six and I took the over and said they’d have at least six.

The lone special teams stat was Over/Under two field goals for Sam Keltner. I took the over and said three and he nearly had it, but Morris sent the offense out onto the field and he finished with two.

This week the Cowboys are taking on No. 20 Houston on the road at Houston.

Be sure to give your thoughts on how you think each pick will go.

The first Over/Under offensive pick this week will be Over/Under 100 rushing yards as a team

Through six games this season, the Cougars are allowing just 74 rushing yards per game. For comparison, the Cowboys are averaging 199 per game. Definitely a stark contrast. I didn’t want to take too much credit away from the Cougars, so Over/Under 100 rushing yards as a team for the Pokes?

I’m going to take the over and say the Pokes have at least 120 rushing yards.

Over/Under 100 receiving yards for Justin Bowick

Bowick has been a real tear for the Pokes this season as he has 442 yards through five games, 98 coming against UCF this past weekend. As a team, the Cowboys are averaging 322 passing yards per game, while the Cougars are allowing just 248. Can Bowick do enough to get at least 100 yards? I’m going to take the under, but not by much as he’s cleared 100 yards just once this season, but was close twice.

Over/Under OSU holding Houston to 45% 3rd down conversion

The Cowboy defense has been pretty good this season at holding teams to just 31% on 3rd conversion. On the other side of the field, Houston has been very good on 3rd down as they’re converting on 63% of their attempts. Can the Cowboys hold the Cougars to under their season percentage and keep them to at least 45%? I’m gonna take the over because while the Cowboy defense has been solid, I think Connor Weigman and the Cougars are going to be tough to stop on 3rd down, but not much better.

Over/Under two team sacks

Gonna keep this one fairly simple and go with sacks. The Cougars’ offensive line has been pretty solid this season, allowing just five sacks for 11 yards. Now, you have to give Connor Weigman credit as he can move around a bit. As a team, the Cowboys have nine sacks for a loss of 43 yards. Can they combine for at least two sacks? I’m gonna take a push here and say they have just two.

Over/Under 40 yards per punt for Lachie Pozzobon

Pozzobon has only had nine punts this year for an average just over 39 and a half yards per punt. The punters facing the Cougars are averaging just under 39 yards per punt net. Can Lachie, with his low number of punts, average over 40 yards per punt? I’m gonna take the under, but not by much.
