Welcome back to another edition of Over/Under here on the Pokes Report Network.

In this long-running series, we give five stats for the upcoming game, two offensive, two defensive and one special teams, and you decide whether you think it’ll hit Over or Under.

Oklahoma State is coming off a 35-32 road loss to Houston this past weekend, knocking them out of the polls, while Houston jumped up quite a bit, but that’s a different story that’ll take way too much time to discuss.

Going back through last week’s Over/Under stats, I got four right and was really close on one.

The first one was Over/Under 100 rushing yards as a team. This is one I hit on as I took the Pokes going over 100 and they posted 134 yards. Caleb Hawkins led the team with 17 carries for 68 yards, Mestemaker had six for 34, Ayo Adeyi had two for 20 yards and the lone rushing touchdown. But the surprise of the rushing game came on a 12-yard rush by Shaun Torgeson on a fumble recovery.

The second one was Over/Under 100 receiving yards for Justin Bowick.

I took the under and was right as he finished with just three catches for 27 yards and a touchdown. Houston did a good job of covering him up.

The third was Over/Under OSU holding Houston to 45% on 3rd down conversion.

Houston is one of the best 3rd down offenses in the country and that stayed true on Saturday as they converted 7-of-13 3rd down attempts. I took the over and it cleared.

The fourth one was Over/Under two team sacks for the Pokes.

I took the push on this one as Houston’s offensive line has been solid at protecting Connor Weigman. The Pokes have been good at getting to quarterbacks this season and the Pokes finished with two sacks.

The fifth one, and the one I missed on was Over/Under 40 yards per punt for Lachie Pozzobon.

I took the under on this and Lachie had just one punt for 42 yards. Bummer.

The Cowboys are back this week for a Homecoming showdown with Colorado. The Buffs are currently 0-3 in Big 12 play and in a tie for last place in the conference, but they’ve been in all three of the losses, 23-13 on the road at Baylor, gave Tech all they wanted in the 29-7 home loss and nearly upset No. 11 Utah this past weekend in Boulder 27-24.

The first state for this week will be a team stat: Over/Under 35 total points

The Cowboys are first in the conference averaging just over 38 points per game, scoring 41 against West Virginia, 42 against UCF and just 32 against Houston. On the other side of the ball, Colorado is exactly halfway on the table allowing just over 26 points per game.

Can the Cowboys clear Colorado’s total and score at least 35 points? I’m gonna take the over and say they have at least 38 points.

The second one will be Over/Under seven receptions for Wyatt Young

Young currently leads the Big 12 in receiving yards and yards per game and is doing so on just six catches per game. Can Young put together a solid performance against the Buffs and have at least seven receptions? I’m gonna go with over and say he has at least nine.

The third will be Over/Under holding Colorado to 400 total yards

The Cowboys are allowing quite a few yards in Big 12 play this season as they’re 12th in the league giving up 449 yards per game. The Buffs, while they aren’t as good on offense putting up 377 yards per game, have some pretty good athletes. Will the Buffs be able to put up at least 400 yards against the Pokes? I’m gonna take the under and say the Pokes hold the Buffs to closer to their average.

The fourth will be Over/Under two tackles for loss for Tate Romney

Romney is having a much better year than some people thought he would as he’s second in the conference with 34 total tackles, just behind fellow linebacker Ethan Wesloski. Tate is currently fifth in the conference with five tackles for loss across three games. Can he have at least two tackles for loss against the Buffs? I’m gonna take the under with one.

The final will be Over/Under 12 points for Sam Keltner

Keltner has been a magic man this season for the Pokes and is currently fourth in the conference with 10.3 points per game across three games. He’s hit seven field goals and 10 extra points. Can he combine for at least 10 points against the Buffs? I’m gonna take the over with three field goals and at least four extra points.
