STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy admits that he underestimated the impact of the NCAA Transfer Portal and what it would do to football teams like his. Oklahoma State had been a consistent winner and had a good culture, but as Gundy said there are three reasons that players will leave, and they don’t mean that where they are currently playing is a bad deal. Some players just want something different.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I don't particularly like that they have another portal period for about two months after the Spring period ends, it just creates more havoc with the rosters for teams. I think they should have the one three month portal period that begins usually on December 1 and runs until usually the first of March!

I suspect we will no longer see coaches naming a starting QB after Spring ball for fear of losing a QB to the portal.
