Oklahoma State Lands Commitment From 2024 Deer Park (TX) DE Luke Webb

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed its 13th commitment in the 2024 class with Deer Park (TX) HS defensive end, Luke Webb.

Webb took to social media to make the announcement official.

Webb, who holds close to 20 offers, checks in at 6-3, 265 pounds and chose the Cowboys over Arizona, California, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Oregon State, SMU, Tulane, UTSA and Washington State among others.

This past season as a junior, Webb was solid as he helped Deer Park to a 9-2 overall record and was the best defensive player in his district, 22-6A, as he was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year. He led the district in both sacks and tackles for loss and he’s a two-time District 22-6A first team selection heading into his senior season.

Webb made his official visit to Stillwater back in mid-April and told Pokes Report that while he understands college football is a business, the Cowboys made it feel like a family. Certainly a sentiment shared by most recruits who come through the doors.

“The visit was wonderful,” Webb said of his official on April 14-16. “Everyone was great and made the program seem more like a family than a business. I know it’s a business, but there it did seem more like family.”

Pokes Report has been in contact with Webb, who has a family gathering Saturday afternoon, and will be the first call Webb makes for a reaction piece later today.

Webb marks the eighth defensive commitment in the class for the Pokes, as well as the 13th commitment, as mentioned above. He joins S Landyn Cleveland, CB Willie Nelson, LB Temerrick Johnson, DE Armstrong Nnodim, S David Kabongo, LB Jonathan Agumadu and LB Gunnar Wilson on the defensive side of the ball. The offensive commitments are WR Tre Griffiths, OL Caleb Hackleman, OL Chauncey Johnson, RB Rodney Fields and TE Josh Ford.
