Lexi Kilfoyl Tabbed Big 12 and NFCA Pitcher of the Week Following Bedlam Series
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State softball rolled to its first win over Oklahoma in Norman since 1997 and its first series win in Norman since 1993. Following her pivotal performance in the series. pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl was named the Big 12 and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week, the third time sweeping the weekly award this season for Kilfoyl.
The other two times this season were on Feb. 27 and April 2.
Kilfoyl was dominant against the Sooners as she went seven innings of relief, striking out five hitters, recording no earned runs and she held the Sooners to just four hits and one extra-base hit. Patty Gasso’s squad has the second-best slugging percentage in college softball.
Kilfoyl is now up to 139.1 innings pitched this season with an 1.11 ERA and 114 strikeouts to just 29 walks.
Kilfoyl will have a chance to improve upon those impressive numbers this week as the Cowgirls face BYU in their opening game of the Big 12 tournament in Oklahoma City. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, which will be streamed on ESPN+.
