Former Oklahoma State star receiver, and Biletnikoff Award winner, James Washington, has been released by the Atlanta Falcons.

Washington, who was signed towards the beginning of training camp, has failed to record a catch in the Falcons’ two preseason games.

Washington was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2018 NFL Draft, playing in 60 games and recording 114 catches for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns across his career with the Steelers, the Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts.

The veteran spent time with the Colts and Saints last year, but last appeared in a regular season game with the Cowboys in 2022. He also played 60 games for the Steelers and has 114 catches for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns for his career.

During his time in Stillwater, Washington was one of the best receivers in college football as he recorded 226 receptions for 4,472 yards and 39 touchdowns. That includes his Biletnikoff season in 2017 where he posted 74 catches for 1,549 yards and 13 TDs.
