Jason Brooks Jr. Enters Transfer Portal
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State offensive lineman Jason Brooks Jr. took to social media Tuesday morning announced he’s officially entering the transfer portal.
Brooks, who dealt with injuries towards the end of the 2023 season, started in the first seven games last season. Gundy addressed Brooks in his weekly press conference on Monday after Brooks hasn’t played since the middle of fall camp.
"I don't think he really felt good with his knee and wasn't comfortable," Gundy said Monday. "He came to us and said that he felt like he wanted to sit this year. We would have played him by now if he would have been active and playing."
Brooks checks in at 6-3, 310 pounds and was a mainstay on the offensive line since he transferred into the program from Vanderbilt ahead of the 2022 season. As a redshirt sophomore that year, Brooks played in 11 games, starting in four.
Going back to this past week, redshirt sophomores guards Davis Dotson and Austin Kawecki both played some significant snaps against Tulsa and their tape looked good on the rewatch on Sunday.
