Offensive Review: Terrible Truths of Offense vs. WVU and Where the Unit Stands

So are we to infer nobody on the line will be replaced by younger possibly more fluid players? If they aren't getting it done AND THEY AREN'T, why isn't anybody else getting a chance?

We need two weeks of competition and some benching for players to have hope! Every team I was ever around knows who isn't getting it done and who should be replaced. Don't do that because of tenure or some other BS reason other than performance and you lose the team.

What's happening isn't acceptable and changes MUST BE MADE in personnel and approach to have any hope of better effort and results.

Fire the three inside and watch things improve! It can't be any worse! Get some guards that can pull and players who can win three second wars inside!

If you don't replace underperforming players you lose the team. We need constant competition and a willingness to replace people not getting it done not some BS tenure preference if it's failing spectacularly!

I've been a diehard Cowboy fan since I was young, which was the late 70's. Had season tickets for over 15yrs. I've seen losses when we were just overmatched but the kids always played hard. But what I've seen over the last 3 games is unexceptionable!! You always have those fans that ***** and moan about coaches, and I've always just tried to stay positive. But there are serious issues with this team, attitude reflects leadership. I hate to say it because I am extremely thankful for everything that Mike has done for our program, but changes need to be made. Bowman should never see the field again, yes he has thrown for a bunch of yards, but panic attacks are not what you need in a QB. Dunn should be out, play calling is pathetic. And for the love of Pete, get a defensive coordinator with D1 experience. Still loyal and true, but time for change!!

Thank You!!!!!!!!!! I have been screaming about atrocious guard play for the last couple of weeks and have been saying let's give the two backups who are now ready for prime time, Davis Dotson and Austin Kawicki a shot at starting and see what they can do!!! At this point it can't hurt anything but you may see the running game begin to breath a little life which then opens everything else up for the offense! Plus, I also am in agreement with those who say let's see Flores and even the true Freshman Maeli smith perform on the field!!! If you get the chance to watch the replay of the game on YouTube when it is uploaded concentrate on the line play!!!

There's only one statistic that matters....W or L.

Something is definitely wrong with this football program. FIX IT!!!! If Gundy can't fix it, then discussions and phone calls to the athletic director need to be made.

Why the abandonment of the gap blocking that worked last year with the same guys. That's the one big question I've had all year.

I do think its time to move on to Rangel and give him his shot. It's time to look to the future, and that may be the only way to salvage this year.

I don't disagree but am fearful that the 2nd team guys are not going to be better just because the starters aren't getting it done. Maybe this is the result of poor recruiting on the OL and DL for several years. This is soooo frustrating.

There is a reason a two or three of these lineman are here for a sixth year! If they had even an ounce of pro potential they would have been gone after last year!!! Davis and Kawicki are more talented and physically skilled than those three I am talking about, all guards! It was hoped that all that experience would prove fruitful but that is hardly what has happened! Bowman himself after the Utah game in an interview admitted if he had been a highly thought of multi star talent who had a shot at the NFL he wouldn't be here this year! NJ Aggie is right on the money asking why we haven't utilized much much more of the gap scheme that seems more suited to what we have on the line!!!

I heard stats on the radio today that OSU is one of only 3 teams since (I think) 2006 with winning seasons every year. (Seems like Wisconsin and Boise were the other two). So to an extent, things return to the norm at some point. Having said that....Bowman was close to 1:1 on touchdowns/interceptions last year. I bought the line Bowman was improved and looked forward to seeing his game this year. Now, he's "improved" to a 3:2 ratio on touchdowns/interceptions (12:8). For comparison, Avery Johnson the young KSU QB has 9:4. Time for anyone else IMO.
