Oklahoma State Announces Oklahoma A&M Throwback Helmets
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State footbal teased early Wednesday they would be making an announcement at noon. Well, we’ve got our first look at the Cowboys’ Homecoming helmet and the Pokes are throwing it way back.
It pays homage to the programs’ 125th season with wearing the OA logo on the side of the helmet, which served as the official letter and emblem of the O.A. Association by the athletes of Oklahoma A&M College way back in October of 1909.
This decal was worn by the various sports across campus from 1909 to 1913. This will be the first time the OA logo has been worn by an Oklahoma State athletics program since the start of World War I.
Along with the helmets, which shows the former Mascot of Oklahoma State/A&M, “Tigers,” the players will also wear black with orange horizontal stripes sleeves and leggings, which was a prominent part of the old uniforms, which was worn from 1901 to 1921.
Kickoff for the Pokes’ Homecoming game against Arizona State will be at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on FS1.
