STILLWATER – If you want to retrace steps and we did some of that with our speculation on the defensive side of the football then there is one name on the offensive side. It just happens that former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator, the co-inventor of the tempo and turbo systems of calling offensive plays at a lightning pace, Mike Yurcich is avaliable. There’s also a very astute offensive coach that is just become available.

There are also a lot of candidates in the region.

I would not be opposed to Yurcich. His first couple of years he had to contend with an o-line that couldn't block a running play to save their souls. I remember Barry Sanders Jr was dodging tacklers in the backfield and looked terrible. However, once we got some average blocking his offenses were pretty good.

Hire Zac Robinson as offensive coordinator then he can take over as head coach when Gundy retires.

Zac Robinson's Current Contract Details

Zac Robinson was named the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator on January 29, 2024. His contract is reported to run through the 2026 season.

Robinson is set to earn a base salary that aligns with other top offensive coordinators in the NFL, estimated around $2 million per year. His contract includes performance-related bonuses conditioned on the team's offensive achievements, such as yardage and scoring benchmarks.

I would like Zac as OC/HC in waiting, Jim Knowles as DC. Is it too much of pipe dream?

I would be please with that also, but Zac makes over 2 Mil/yr now, why would he want to take on this mess for equal pay and a promise? Plus recruiting responsibilities that is not now required of him.

IMHO, Zac will like be a Pro HC before he ever sets foot in college.

but it we can find a way.... that would be nice

Ah ok, I thought Zac makes less than a million now. His salary information is all over the place.

I think ZR would be a great fit here in Stillwater, obviously his ties here but he's an incredible coach. Unfortunately, I tend think he'll stick around the NFL.

There has to be better options out there than Tom Herman.

He's definitely not a head coach, but he's an incredible offensive mind who's won a lot and put out some great numbers, including a national title as OC with two back up QBs. I don't think it'll be him, but he'd be a great choice.
