Oklahoma State Announces Hiring of New Defensive Coordinator Todd Grantham
STILLWATER – On Wednesday, Oklahoma State officially announced Todd Grantham as the new defensive coordinator. Pokes Report broke the news about Grantham joining the staff on Sunday afternoon.
Grantham comes to Stillwater from the NFL and the New Orleans Saints, where he most recently served as the defensive line coach.
"We are pleased to have coach Todd Grantham join our staff as defensive coordinator," head coach Mike Gundy said in the release from OSU. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and a pedigree very rarely seen in college football today. Our fans and players should be extremely excited about Oklahoma State defensive football from this point moving forward."
Grantham has a wealth of expereience as a defensive coordinator in the ACC, NFL and SEC, having served in that role from 2005-07 with the Cleveland Browns, Georgia from 2010-13, Louisville from 2014-16, Mississippi State in 2017 and FLoriday from 2018-21. As mentioned, he’s served as the defensive line coach for the Saints the past two seasons, but that’s a volatile situation where the entire coaching staff sees the writing on the wall for after the season.
He also served as a defensive analyst for Nick Saban at Alabama in 2022.
"I would like to thank Coach Gundy and the Oklahoma State administration for allowing me to be part of reestablishing the success and identity of this program," Grantham said in the release from OSU. "We have a lot of work to do, but we are going to embrace the process to give Oklahoma State fans something to be proud of. Time to work!"
The release from the university also confirms the firing of former offensive coordinator, Kasey Dunn, and that a search for the new OC is underway.
