STILLWATER – Oklahoma State and Oklahoma will stage a doubleheader in the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City on Dec. 13. The matchup with the men had been previously announced, and now the Cowgirls’ match up with the Sooners has officially been announced.

The men’s teams met in Bedlam last season with Oklahoma winning 80-65. The Cowboys went on to a 17-18 season that ended with a two-point loss to North Texas in the NIT. Oklahoma went on to post a 20-14 record and made the NCAA before losing to defending champion UConn 67-59 in the first round.

Oklahoma State Athletics
Leading scorer Stailee Heard is back for OSU.

On the women’s side, they have not met in basketball since an 81-74 win by Oklahoma on Feb. 3, 2024. The fact the women’s teams did not play last season is important as it was the first time in 50 years there was no women’s Bedlam basketball.

Oklahoma was 27-8 last season and won their first NCAA game before losing int he second round to Indiana.

Oklahoma State was third in the Big 12 and finished with a 25-7 record, losing int he first round of the NCAA tournament to South Dakota State. The Cowgirls return several top players including Stailee Heard and Micah Gray.

I wish we weren't playing them, but there it is.

I can understand the consternation but it's an easy non-con game to schedule and they can make some really good money on gate and TV.

I'm good with this. It's a solid early-season barometer for both squads. OU's men? Pretty mid-Porter's seat is heating up fast. But the OU women are legit, and this is exactly the kind of game that could give the Cowgirls a serious resume boost come March. Big opportunity

of course, and we could do just the same with a game against Ark, or any other P4 team.

and, the games should be played in Tulsa. Period.

I believe that the goons would suffer more by having to schedule some other team. Let them fend for themselves.
