Oklahoma State first true test of the season is Saturday up in Eugene, Ore., against the No. 6 Oregon Ducks. It’s also possible this is the toughest challenge of the year for the Pokes.
The Cowboys will be looking to go 2-0 on the season, while upsetting a potential host team in the College Football Playoffs, while the Ducks are looking to continue their home non-conference dominance.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS and Paramount+.
We’ll give you two offensive topics, two defensive topics and one special teams topic to predict.
After reading through the article, we ask that you drop a comment below to give your thoughts on if the Pokes will go over/under on each of the topics. Even though it’s Over/Under, much like Vegas, you can choose to push a topic if you feel it won’t be over or under.
Over/Under two Zane Flores passing touchdowns
Third-year quarterback Zane Flores is getting the first start to his collegiate series on Saturday. He came into the game to start the second quarter against UT Martin following the injury to Hauss Hejny, Flores went 13-of-20 for 136 yards, but no scores. Can the Cowboys and Flores move the ball enough for two passing touchdowns against the Ducks?
Over/Under 100 receiving yards for a single Cowboy
Alright sports fans, take your pick on this one. Will a single Cowboy receiver have at least 100 passing yards in this game?
Over/Under two OSU defensive sacks
The Cowboys combined for four sacks against the Skyhawks in the season opener, with Wendell Gregory recording three in the first half. The Ducks have a really solid offensive line, so the Pokes will have their work cut out for them. Can they combine for at least two Duck sacks?
Over/Under 400 yards allowed
After one game, the Ducks have the No. 19 overall offense in the country after putting up 506 yards of total offensive against Montana State last week. The Cowboys have the No. 32 overall ranked defense after allowing just 225 yards against UT Martin. Can the Cowboys hold the Ducks to at least 400 yards?
Over/Under 45 yards per OSU punt
Not to be a downer, but we will see Wes Pahl a few times on Saturday because the Ducks have a good defensive unit. Pahl was one of the best punters in the country in week one, averaging 48.8 yards per punt. Can he average at least 45 yards per boot in a hostile environment?
