STILLWATER – Eric Morris and Co. have gone Power Four and added a Big Ten safety out of the transfer portal. Vincent Holmes, a former four-star athlete in the 2023 class, committed to Oklahoma State while on an official visit.

Holmes checks in at 6-0, 190 pounds and is coming off his redshirt sophomore season with the Washington Huskies this past fall.

Playing in all 13 games, Holmes recorded just two tackles in the second to last game of the season against Oregon.

He played in 12 of the Huskies’ 13 games in 2024, recorded seven total tackles, one against Rutgers, one against Penn State, one against Indiana and four against USC, which came in his first career start.

According to an article from the Washington SI account, Holmes just got lost in the mix as Washington added a new defensive coordinator, new safeties coach and new defensive scheme going into his third year.

When asked about Holmes, Washington’s new defensive coordinator Ryan Walters said "That's another guy we're excited about who's got multiple years. He's very athletic, he can run, he can hit."

He played in four games as a true freshman in 2023 to maintain his redshirt.

Holmes is originally out of San Jacinto, CA, and was listed as the No. 11 overall athlete in the 2023 class according to 247 as played wide receiver as well in high school.
