STILLWATER – It was another late-game collapse against TCU for Oklahoma State as the Cowboys gave up a 10-0 run in the final 2:23 of the game to lose 68-65, marking the eighth-straight loss in Fort Worth.
With the loss, the Cowboys are now 14-5 overall on the season and 2-4 in Big 12 play.
The Cowboys led more than half the game, going on a 10-0 run just past the midway point in the first half to take a three-point lead, 32-29, with 6:10 left in the half. They maintained their lead through the start of the second half, with the Frogs taking a one-point lead, 42-41, for about 40 seconds, before the Cowboys took the lead back.
The largest lead for the Pokes in the second half was nine points, a few different times, but 56-47, with just over 10 minutes left in the second half. In all, the Cowboys led nearly 24 minutes of the game.
The Horned Frogs slowly chipped away, before going on a 9-0 run over the next two minutes of the game to take a two-point lead, 67-65, with just eight seconds left.
After an OSU timeout after getting the ball across midcourt, Vyctorius Miller missed a contested 3-pointer, which was rebounded by Isaiah Coleman, who missed a point-blank tip in layup with less than one second left, before fouling David Punch to send him to the free throw line to make it a 10-0 run for the Horned Frogs and to seal the 68-65 win.
In comparison, the Cowboys went scoreless the final 4:13 of the game following a layup by Andrija Vukovic, who finished with seven points. But after that shot, the Cowboys went 0-of-7 from the field, which included four missed layups.
Isaiah Coleman led the Pokes in scoring with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor with a team-high six rebounds. Anthony Roy finished with 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. He also had a team-high three turnovers.
Kanye Clary finished with 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor 1-of-4 from 3-point range and team-high six assists.
Parsa Fallah finished with just two points on 1-of-5 shooting from the floor with four rebounds in 24 minutes.
As a team, the Cowboys shot 44% from the floor, 40% from 3-point range and 50% from the free throw line on 5-of-10 shooting. The Horned Frogs shot 46% from the floor, 30% from 3-point range and 50% from the free throw line on 6-of-12 shooting. They outrebounded the Pokes 39-35, with the Pokes outscoring TCU 42-40 in the paint and 30-7 off the bench, with 14 turnovers apiece, OSU with 16 points off of and TCU with 15.
The Cowboys are back in action this coming Saturday as they play host to Iowa State for the Remember the Ten game.
