As soon as it happened and he went down holding his knee, the memories came flooding back to my own torn ACL, during basketball practice my senior year of high school in 1970. The pain is excruciating and I knew it was serious, but I am sure Parsa is much more upset with being out the rest of the season. I had surgery (under the knife and not the arthroscopic techniques in use today) and healed enough to comeback the second half of the season, but it is a long uphill climb. I was able to play college basketball the next year, but not smart enough to go to class! I enlisted in the Marines, won a Southern European championship while stationed in Spain, played in the All-Navy tournament and later won a Camp Lejeune base championship in 1983. So, all is not lost for Parsa. I wish him the best.
