The news on player movement didn’t take long to ramp up after the Oklahoma State 37-35 win over Notre Dame in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl. Safety Tre Sterling declared he will be pursuing the NFL. That wasn’t surprising as his dad was pushing that earlier this season when Tre injured his forearm area. That is the tip of player decisions to be made.

because we now have early signing for our recruiting classes..... is this period between early signing and Spring Football, now officially called "portal season"?

It's starting to seem so...... 1) sign the best class that you can early, then 2) constantly scan the Portal for guys to complete the recruiting class before Spring Drills.

Will be interested to hear the inside story of who took up the reins for Knowles and how it worked.

Yeah basically. While it's highly unfortunate to potentially lose some playmakers, this gives them to opportunity to hopefully bring in guys like Danny Godlevske, Josh Sills and Jaylen Warren.

Agreed - It was obvious there were multiple voices when calling the defensive plays. They were late getting the calls in and the defense was late in setting up and it showed in that first half.

LD brown returning would help lessen the sting of Warren's departure. But, antwine, asi, and Martin back would be huge. Benson will help a bunch at LB plus we have young talent to go along with lb returners, bishop and cobb. Shettron sounds like a dude and we return a lot of WR talent. Its looking good For 2022

I hope Tanner McAlister reconsiders and comes back as a starter next season for the Cowboys, we are in a much better place right now than LSU.

So Zac or whoever, can players be "tipped off" another school would provide a portal offer/opportunity in an above board manner.....or is it all kept behind the back by schools who see a player they would like to reach out to? I can't see how this can be controlled.

Honestly, you can't really control it. Most of what's done nowadays is done by players, both current and former. If someone at school A went to high school with someone at school B and school A missed out on the player from school B and sees they're not happy, they could have the high school teammate (or friend or acquaintance) reach out and see if they'd be interested in transferring.

These first few years of the portal, same as with NIL, will definitely be the Wild West until schools/compliance/governing entity figures out some kind of regulation.

Player would be a great addition to OSU defense.

Personally, I don't believe that this is really a thing.... I mean, certainly it "could" happen, but likely is not a factor because 1) players typically leave for more PT, not to sit behind somebody else on some other team and 2) if they're good enough to warrant interest in the Portal, then they likely don't need to put out "feelers".

The last that I heard about portal player is that most of them never find another team, and leave the sport. (I would like to see more recent information about portal "success")

if we use TU's Player as an example, everybody knows who he is, and I don't know if he has any interest in OSU, but any school would be foolish (or loaded) not to offer him. OSU wasted no time at all, he had multiple instant offers. We'll see where he ends up.
