Former Oklahoma State Corner Jarrick Bernard-Converse Transferring To LSU
Just after it was announced that Oklahoma State would be hiring Derek Mason as its newest defensive coordinator, LSU football sent out a tweet that it had signed former Cowboy cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse.
The senior out of Evangel Christian out of Shreveport, LA will be a grad transfer.
Bernard-Converse was very good his final year in Stillwater. He entered the season starting 33-straight games and was tabbed First Team All-Big 12 and recorded 48 total tackles, 38 of which were solo stops, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, one quarterback hurry and 10 pass break ups.
His 10 PBUs led the team, with fellow corner Christian Holmes next on the list with seven.
He’s recorded 183 total tackles during his time in Stillwater, with 59 tackles his freshman season in 2018, which led to him earning the Russell Okung Award, awarded to OSU’s most outstanding newcomer.
Now that Jarrick is officially gone, he leaves behind a collection of talented, but young corners. Both Korie Black and Jabbar Muhammad were sophomores this past season on next on the list and played key roles in games down the stretch for the Pokes. Black recorded 19 total tackles, 12 of which were solo stops, including three against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. As for Muhammad, the cousin of former OSU corner AJ Green, he finished the year with 23 total tackles, 18 of which were solo stops, as well as three pass break ups, one of which came against Notre Dame.
