Oklahoma State Offers Vanderbilt Offensive Line Transfer Jason Brooks

Oklahoma State is still looking to bring in another offensive lineman from the portal to add to the team for this summer. They have offered quite a few but have come up short to this point but remain active in their pursuit.

Their most recent offer came early this afternoon as Charlie Dickey extended an offer to Vanderbilt offensive lineman Jason Brooks. Brooks announced he was entering the portal yesterday. He is 6’4 305 pounds and has versatility on the line.

Coming from Vanderbilt, he is one of Cowboys defensive coordinator Derek Mason’s former players. 

Brooks, who will be in his third year of his career, played in five games last season at Vanderbilt and started the season finale at Tennessee. He was projected to compete for a starting guard spot in 2022. 

Oklahoma State is the only offer Brooks has reported since announcing he was entering the portal, so unless more schools jump in soon (which is likely), the Cowboys would seem to be the obvious favorite right now.

Coming out of high school, Brooks was a 3-star prospect from Dobie High School in the Houston, Texas, area.

Helping recruit Brooks will be a mix of Charlie Dickey and John Wozniak, as well as new offensive line analyst Zach Allen. Zach was most recently the recruiting coordinator and defensive run-game coordinator at Northeastern State University. 

Just so people know, the addition of Allen to the staff fills out the support staff in the West End Zone to go along with the recent addition of Derek Mason’s contribution of Bryce Lewis to the staff, one of his former players at Vanderbilt, who also followed him at Auburn.

Brooks has not hinted how long he will let his recruitment run, but I can be sure that Oklahoma State will be press him for his services to be in Stillwater for the 2022 season.
